Absentee Bid Policy
Bidding without being on-site, and the rules that keep it fair.
Absentee bid policy
// bidding without being thereCan't make it to the sale in person? We accept absentee bids as a courtesy to our regular customers — with a few rules that keep things fair for everyone.
In-person viewing required
Every item must be viewed at our auction house before you place an absentee bid. We do not accept bids based on pictures seen only on the internet.
$25.00 per item
Don't worry — $25 is only the minimum we'll accept, not what you'll necessarily pay. We bid for you only as high as needed to win.
We may limit your count
We reserve the right to limit how many absentee bids any one bidder leaves for a given sale.
It's on you to check your bid status
Call our office at 610-274-8525 to find out if you won — an invoice will also be emailed to you after the auction. Winning items must be paid for and picked up within one week of the sale. We do not offer delivery, so pickup must be arranged in person. If you need more time or a pickup outside that window, call the office ahead of time — we'll do our best to work with you, but extensions aren't guaranteed.
Warning: Failing to pay for and remove your item(s) within one week — without a prior arrangement — will result in your absentee bidding privilege being removed. We will no longer accept bids for items left here until the next auction.
Absentee bidding is offered as a courtesy — we'll do our best to execute your bid properly, but Harold S. Hill & Son, Inc. and its employees aren't responsible for any discrepancies that come up along the way. We also reserve the right to choose which auctions we will or will not accept absentee bids for.
